Blurring the lines between nature, and mid-century modern living

Dawson Creek

Earthy. Grounded. Presence. The three words that best encapsulate the Strathalbyn Project.

Also known as our “Dawson Creek Project” owing to the creek that flows through the property, our couple for this project? Had owned the land for over a decade and are grounded beings who wanted to create a home that celebrated stillness, family, as well as nature.

Translating this to design, this meant no TV in the living area, open space for old school connection and large window reading nooks, where elements of the outdoors could be invited in.

With floor to ceiling windows that grasp your attention at every turn, and natural light that effortlessly fills the home, the space internally and externally features minimal overall footprint. From lazy bonfires with good conversations that can be held outside, to creating a space the young children can grow into as well as come back to, this home is a gentle nudge to us all of the things that truly matter.

From Land to Lifestyle

Created with a combination of American Oak Timber, brushed brass tapware, rammed earth walls and burnished concrete flooring, the Dawson Creek Project oozes tranquility, earthiness and warmth as soon as you step inside.

A home where our client’s young family will grow into and be excited to visit again even when they’re long into their adult lives, the home features an outdoor landscape where the little ones could immerse themselves in play, wonder, imagination and nights around the bonfire.

Whilst occupying a relatively small footprint, the home boasts an abundance of separation to grow with the family. A truly timeless family home that we know our clients will love for decades to come.
