A contemporary twist on country charm: Modern Farmhouse

The Modern Farmhouse.

Settled on acres of farmland, the Modern Farmhouse is filled with warm natural light and embodies an understated, passive design – making it a relaxed and welcoming family home.

The couple we were creating for? Spend a lot of time working and travelling. So when it came to this home, we needed to create something absolutely extraordinary for them. It needed to be a space that they looked forward to coming home to every day. It needed to be a retreat from the outside world, and make every moment of their hard work worth it.

From the moment we met our beautiful clients, we knew they were our kind of people. And we knew exactly how to help them to bring their vision into reality. We guided them through the entire approvals process and helped them to fit out the interior and exterior of their home with design that spoke to each of their unique (and different) tastes.

From land to lifestyle

Created from a combination of limestone block, timber, and polished concrete floors, the Modern Farmhouse is a breath of contemporary architecture against an earthy farmland setting. The skillion roof, raked ceiling, and enormous highlight windows bring the wide open space feeling from the outside, in.

With the possibility of one day having their home filled with the tiny footsteps of little ones, we ensured that this home was designed to suit their lifestyle now and in the future. We created a wing of the home exclusively for them (complete with their master bedroom, ensuite, walk-in-robe, and study), and separate wing for the other bedrooms and master bathroom. The shape of the home means that both bedroom wings are out of view from each other and the main living and alfresco area. Creating pockets of private retreat across the home.

The details

The little things that we loved about this forever home…

  • Interior limestone features as homage to the natural environment.
  • Carved interior timber elements to add warmth to the main living spaces.
  • A deep bathtub sitting below a massive window, for soaking and watching the wind brush through the trees.

Price guide: $600,000 - $750,000

Words from our client

“We are absolutely thrilled with the house and so excited to choose an artwork – what an awesome surprise! It’s one of the things I’ve been looking forward to the most, since we’ve been in the rental – the extra bits and pieces that really make a place our home.

The whole experience with you and Aaron and the whole team has been fantastic! Thank you so much.”
