Our fourth spec home is a head-turner: finished in a striking combination of gun-metal blue brick, crisp white blockwork and timber accents, it delivers a high-impact street frontage and an exceptional standard of living.
Our goal for this project was to create something with a unique architectural appeal, incorporating new materials where possible – all within a set budget. This was achieved through a thoughtful design response, in which we combined a low-pitched roofline with stacked block cladding and oversized, wide-paned windows. The result? A low-slung, glamorous ranch-style aesthetic.
This exceptionally well-resolved design flows through to the light-filled interiors. Every room features a unique point of interest – the black traceless laminate on the kitchen joinery; feature lighting to the hallway, herringbone tilework in the bathroom, and EasyVJ wall cladding in the custom-designed study nook. The repeated use of black accents (to joinery, window frames, tapware, and bathroom vanity), together with crisp white walls and polished concrete flooring throughout, creates an elegant and cohesive finish.
The design also incorporates solar passive design principles for year-round thermal comfort, and seamless transitioning between the indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Finished with the AMC team’s trademark technical expertise and flair, this spec home project successfully showcases the exciting design possibilities that can be achieved for a family home on a standard size house block and controlled budget.
